Maggie Pearl Quilt, Warp and Weft Fabric, Heirloom Fabric, Ruby Star Society, Patchwork Quilt

Maggie Pearl Quilt

I’ll jump straight into the details on this one because it’s been a joy to sew again. It’s a simple one, my friends, but sometimes simple is ideal. I needed something easy this time.

Low Volume Quilt, Simple patchwork quilt, Jacob's Ladder quilt

A Simple and HUGE Low Volume Quilt

If you’ve followed along here for long, this quilt may look quite familiar. Low volume used to be my only comfort zone, and maybe in many respects, it really still is, but it’s been a while since I’ve relished in that familiar comfort. Low volume is still the most natural for me.

Strawberry and Friends Canvas by Ruby Star Society

Strawberry and Friends Canvas Pillows

I’m slightly partial to all the strawberry fabric you can find everywhere right now, but I love this canvas called Strawberry and Friends by Ruby Star Society.

The Willow Market Triangle Pillows, Ruby Star Society Strawberry Fabric, Pillow Cover

A Hand Quilted Strawberry Pillow

I had been hoarding the strawberry fabric, but Ruby Star Society recently mentioned they’re bringing it back. They’re going to print yardage of it again. They’re adding new colorways too!

Big Patch Quilt by Hopewood Home

Big Patch Quilt by Hopewood Home

I was first drawn to Susan’s (Hopewood Home) aesthetic style. Her eclectic feed on Instagram is charming, and her fabric choices are one of a kind. I love her quilt inspiration. Her gardens are stunning. And I’ve saved numerous pictures of her home decor for inspiration in my own home.

Gypsum Skirt by Sew Liberated. Merchant & Mills Sebastian Laundered Linen

The Gypsum Skirt

Sewing my own clothes has been a bit of a sheepish endeavor for me. I’m fascinated by it, yet I hesitate to talk of it with most people. It’s a foreign concept to many people. For many, sewing clothes takes an unreasonable amount of time. Or, it’s something that’s already been done by most people at some point, and the joy of sewing for them is gone.

Quilted Pillow Cover for Sale, Warp and Weft Fabric by Ruby Star Society

New Pillows in my Etsy Shop!

I had hoped to have about ten of these done by now, but greater things in life are taking up my time these days. Right now, I’ve completed two, and they’re listed in my Etsy Shop. Maybe I’ll have more soon!

Big Patch Quilt by Hopewood Home

My favorite part about quilting is the fabrics. I love the fabrics. The patterns, textures, and colors are beautiful, and when you combine them into a patchwork quilt, everything gets better.

Film in the Fridge Checkered Garden Quilt by The Willow Market

A Finished Checkered Garden Quilt

Completely finishing a quilt is taking longer and longer for me. Hand quilting definitely slows down the process, but the flowers in my yard, precious children growing out of nap times, and too many books to read these days are also willingly taking up my quilting time.

Checkered Garden quilt block by Film in the Fridge

Checkered Garden Quilt Block

If you’re new to quilting, experienced, or if you’re looking to use up 2 1/2 inch wide scraps, I think this is a great block.

The Linden Sweatshirt by Grainline Studio

Many mysteries of life have been solved now. Up until a week ago, clothes have been a mystery to me. I’ve sewn squares and triangles together for the last ten years of my life, but I’ve never sewn curves and hems.

Triangle Pillows, Art Gallery Fabrics Sparkler Fusion Collection. Everlasting Blooms.

New Floral Pillows for my Etsy Shop

Adding pillows to my shop is few and far between right now, but there are two new ones in there. I fell for the florals on this one.

A Blooming Bunch Fabric Quilt

A Blooming Bunch Quilt

This fabric is so fun. Everything about it is colorful and cheerful and definitely Brady Bunch inspired. The green gingham in here makes me think of Alice.

Morgan Kelly Quilts. Triangle Pillow.

Bundles or Yardage?

I’ve watched her shop since before she sold fabric, but I’d never purchased anything from Morgan Kelly Quilts until last month.

The Willow Market Triangle Pillows

Three Pillows and a Plaid Mask

My Etsy shop is tiny. Teensy tiny. I don’t know if I’ve ever had more than ten items in my shop at one time. I’ve barely capped 100 sales. My audience is small. Three pillows at one time is a big restock for me.

Patchwork Triangles, Then Came June Basics Bundle, Triangle pillows

Patchwork Triangle Pillows

So now that I’ve revealed all my tip top business strategies above, I’ll leave you with a bit of triangle pillow inspiration.

Princess Pillows for sale, Heather Ross Fabric

Princess Pillows for Sale

I have no regrets having a bit of Heather Ross’ 20th Anniversary Line sitting on my fabric shelves. Her whimsical pictures are so cheerful. The violet strawberries are my favorite, but the pink apples are a very close second. They are all listed in my Etsy Shop.

A Checkered Garden Quilt; A Finished Quilt Top

Most of the quilts I make are larger than twin sized. Making this throw sized quilt top for my three year old was a pleasant (and quite quick) endeavor.

Quilted patchwork pillows for sale

New Pillows in my Etsy Shop

These were a joy to sew. I think I’m finally at the point where sewing pillows comes with very few glitches. I’ve made enough of them now that I’m zeroing in on my best practices and processes. (It’s been six years in the making.)

AngieMakes Fabrics. Floral Pillows for Sale.

Floral Pillow Covers for Sale

In all honesty, I would not consider myself an impulse buyer. I’m not a huge shopper, and most of my purchases are quite calculated. If I go to the thrift store, I go for something specific…lest I come home with dust collectors. I’ve used the same purse for over six years now. My husband bought it for me when our second son was born. I haven’t bought a new purse since.
