Golden Hour Fabric

3 / 27 / 213 / 30 / 21
Golden Hour Fabric by Alexia Marcell Abegg

Since the modern quilting movement is so huge now, there are always new lines and new fabrics coming out, but that also means turnover is fast. Lines come and go so fast that fabrics disappear off shelves. Once they’re gone, you can’t always find them again.

A Blooming Bunch Quilt

A Blooming Bunch Fabric Quilt

This fabric is so fun. Everything about it is colorful and cheerful and definitely Brady Bunch inspired. The green gingham in here makes me think of Alice.

What is a Bias Tape Maker?

2 / 21 / 212 / 21 / 21
One Inch Clover Bias Tape Maker. Blooming Bunch Fabrics by Moda.

I found a new little gadget that was entirely worth the cost. It’s called a bias tape maker. They’ve been around for a while, but I’m usually not a gadget type person. I’ve made my quilt bindings and bias tape with a ruler and an iron for ten years. It takes time, but everything with quilting takes time. I didn’t mind the process.

A Blooming Bunch Fabrics

2 / 5 / 212 / 21 / 21
A Blooming Bunch Fabrics. Triangle Patchwork Pillows. The Willow Market Trianlge Pillows. Vintage and Retro Inspired Florals.

It is a fun line, friends. If you like the vintage linens or retro flower power patterns, you’ll enjoy this line. It’s bright and cheerful and full of floral prints. It’s mixed well, though, with a few stripes and ginghams.

Tasha Tudor’s Heirloom Craft Book

Tasha Tudor's Heirloom Crafts

While we listened to the others, I quietly whispered to my husband that I just want to grow up to be Tasha Tudor.

Bundles or Yardage?

1 / 6 / 211 / 6 / 21
Morgan Kelly Quilts. Triangle Pillow.

I’ve watched her shop since before she sold fabric, but I’d never purchased anything from Morgan Kelly Quilts until last month.

How to Make Fabric Covered Buttons or Magnets

12 / 13 / 2012 / 13 / 20
how to make fabric covered buttons or magnets

I’m stepping out on a limb and trying a new product. It’s a completely different price point, and it’s a completely different level of time commitment.

Aviary Fabric by Dashwood Studio

11 / 21 / 2011 / 22 / 20
Nature Study, Aviary line by Dashwood Studio

So what’s the moral of this post? I guess we all need to impulse buy fabric. Because if we don’t, someone else does and we can’t buy it anymore.

Homemade Curtains

11 / 15 / 2011 / 16 / 20
The Willow Market Quilting, Homemade Curtains

You know how curtains are supposed to almost hit the floor after being hung? Mine are approximately two feet too short. And they’ve been that way ever since moving to our new home.

How to Make Fabric Postage Stamps

11 / 1 / 2011 / 1 / 20
The Willow Market, How to Make Fabric Postage Stamps

Something small. Something quick and whimsy. Something just to make them smile. I’ve seen fabric postage stamps for years, but I had no reason to take the time to make them until now. They’re fun and quick and simple.

Meet Kelli

Hi friend! I'm a blessed wife to super husband Peter and mom to three boys. I'm a self-taught quilter who probably does a lot of things wrong. I get way too excited about gardening, and I'm embarking on a journey of home educating my children. You will also see bits of our home here as we make changes to better reflect our family and our needs. Most of all, I am a child of God striving to serve my Savior. Welcome!
