A (Very Large) Flying Geese Quilt

3 / 15 / 204 / 17 / 20
Flying Geese quilt, Darlings by Ruby Star Society

(Please note that affiliate links have been used in this post.) A couple days ago all the blocks for this quilt were laying on the floor in our bedroom, and I was quite disappointed. The quilt had not turned out like I expected. When I looked at the blocks, I felt like the ‘flying geese’… Read More

Many times when I purchase new fabrics, I have projects in mind, but the fabrics must wait in line until its turn. (Sometimes the fabrics must wait years. 🙂 )

How to turn your Embroidery Project into a Pillow

how to turn your embroidery project into a pillow

So here’s a project I’ve never done before. A good friend found this embroidery project at a second hand store months. She asked if I could turn it into a pillow.

Here’s how I turned this vintage embroidery project into a pillow cover.

New Pillow Covers in my Etsy Shop

2 / 9 / 204 / 1 / 20

Friends, this is my biggest restock ever. I actually just listed three new pillow covers in my Etsy Shop.

I chuckle. Three covers is not many, but it’s the most I’ve ever listed at once. 😉 I recently finished a quilt that looks exactly like this pillow. It was my inspiration.

Darlings Fabric by Ruby Star Society

Darlings Fabric by Ruby Star Society

There is only so much time in a day to spend sewing, and I can’t make ALL the quilts my mind dreams up over the course of a day. I’ve been gawking at this Harriot Yarn Died plaid and this Harriot Yarn Died plaid for over a week now, but I haven’t purchased either. Yet I want to buy a yard of each. I’m sure they’d fit into many a perfect project.

New Vintage Sheet Pillow Covers

1 / 19 / 204 / 14 / 20
Vintage Sheets, Patchwork Pillow Covers

I’ve contemplated depleting my vintage sheet stock pile. They’re tricky to sew with. I have to cut around the rough or stained spots. They’re not always easy to find in great condition.

But there’s just something a bit freeing about them.

My Favorite Hand Quilting Supplies

1 / 8 / 204 / 14 / 20
The best hand quilting supplies.

I have this little blue pouch that I’ve carried around for approximately the last two years. It contains my green thimble, a little pair of Fiskars scissions, Pearle Thread, and hand quilting needles.

Well. I lost it.

Winter Wonderland Quilt Top

1 / 1 / 204 / 14 / 20
Charley Harper Winter Wonderland quilt top, Picnic Patch by It's Sew Emma

This is the first Christmas / winter quilt top I’ve made. Every year when we pull out the Christmas decorations, I wish I had a Christmas quilt to pull out to throw on the couch. My children are still young, and the more special Christmas decor we set out for our home, the better. They love it.
