#SummerSampler2016 – Block Two

I’m stepping out of my comfort zone, friends. I joined up with the SummerSample2016 quilters. This is going to stretch me. I am one block behind because I joined late, but know that this block took me over an hour to make. I learned a lot, and I think I will continue to learn as I work my way through the blocks.

(I can’t find the yellow floral pattern anywhere anymore. Its was from VandCo’s Simply Color line, but here is my most recent very favorite yellow floral.)

I am often so drawn to simple patchwork quilts, but this is a reminder of the skill, patience, and endurance it takes to quilt well and with excellence. I love patchwork, but I am only scratching the surface on the road to precision, intricate patchwork, and quilting detail. This was a reminder for me to always appreciate the fine detail and intricacies that go into beautiful and excellent quilts!

If you want to join along, you can go here for details or here to purchase the subscription. 🙂 For twenty weeks, I’ll be emailed a block pattern. Then at the end of those twenty weeks, I’ll sew them all together to make a big scrappy wonderful quilt.

Have a happy Memorial Day weekend!
