Quilted pillow covers are like making miniature quilts. Does anyone else here have some quilts that are two, three, maybe five years in the making? I love them, but my goodness, some of them are a long winded process.
Pillow covers give me some of the same satisfaction as finishing a quilt, but obviously they’re a much faster finish. And, I enjoy using up scraps making them.
This is one of the few scrappy and improv piecing projects I’ve ever done. It was a stress free and enjoyable project with my favorite Parisian blue by Art Gallery Fabrics.
I basted the panel to some leftover cotton batting and backed it with a thrifted vintage sheet. I used a ruler and hera marker to make lines on the pillow top. Then I started hand quilting. I always use these brass zippers from ZipIt or Sullivan’s Trim.
