A Hand Quilted Strawberry Pillow

Hi friends, I just listed a couple new pillows in my Etsy Shop. This one was made on a whim when I was craving creativity. I love it. It’s busy, it’s colorful, and the triangle points lined up well. (Despite years of experience, matching points is always something worth smiling over.) It’s backed with my most favorite fabric ever.

I had been hoarding the strawberry fabric, but Ruby Star Society recently mentioned they’re bringing it back. They’re going to print yardage of it again. They’re adding new colorways too!

This pillow cover is entirely hand quilted. Most of the evenings in our home are spent reading a novel aloud. My husband is usually the reader, and I enjoy having a project to bring to the couch while we sit as a family.

As I’ve mentioned before, hand quilting offers an aesthetic that is very individual. Just like writing is different from person to person, hand quilting also looks different from person to person. The pillow truly becomes ‘one of a kind.’ For more thoughts on why I hand quilt, you can enjoy this post: The Blessings, Thoughts, and Supplies of Hand Quilting.

And last but not least, I used my favorite zippers.

The pillow is an 18 by 18 inch pillow. The 20 by 20 inch down inserts from Ikea work perfectly for my pillow covers. These pillows are ideal size for using on a couch or bed.
