Three Pillows and a Plaid Mask

10 / 26 / 2010 / 26 / 20
The Willow Market Triangle Pillows

My Etsy shop is tiny. Teensy tiny. I don’t know if I’ve ever had more than ten items in my shop at one time. I’ve barely capped 100 sales. My audience is small. Three pillows at one time is a big restock for me.

Mammoth Junior Flannels for Fall

10 / 18 / 2010 / 18 / 20
The Willow Market Quilts, Robert Kaufman Junior Mammoth Flannels

I caught a glimpse of some of Robert Kaufman’s new Junior Mammoth Flannels on Instagram a week ago. I saw a few prints I thought would be beautiful for layering with pillows.

Then Came June Basics Bundle

7 / 26 / 207 / 26 / 20
Then Came June Basics Bundle. Robert Kaufman Fabric. Kona Cotton Solids.

Friends, if you ask me, this is a beautiful bundle. Truth be told, I bought it solely to make pillow covers from for my shop. It’s the first fabric I’ve purchased specifically to make and sell.

Princess Pillows for Sale

7 / 19 / 207 / 24 / 20
Princess Pillows for sale, Heather Ross Fabric

I have no regrets having a bit of Heather Ross’ 20th Anniversary Line sitting on my fabric shelves. Her whimsical pictures are so cheerful. The violet strawberries are my favorite, but the pink apples are a very close second. They are all listed in my Etsy Shop.

A Checkered Garden Quilt; A Finished Quilt Top

7 / 12 / 207 / 12 / 20
checkered garden quilt, heather ross fabrics

Most of the quilts I make are larger than twin sized. Making this throw sized quilt top for my three year old was a pleasant (and quite quick) endeavor.

What is the Easiest Mask Tutorial for a Beginner with a Basic Sewing Machine?

7 / 5 / 207 / 5 / 20
Easiest Simple mask to make without pleats for simple sewing machine

As we all know, anyone who can sew is making masks. A couple months ago, I made a few masks for family members. I made a pleated mask. Maybe I should say, ‘I ATTEMPTED to sew a mask.’ My sewing machine cannot go through pleats well. It just can’t chew through that many layers of fabric well. The stitch doesn’t stay a consistent length, and I have to pull and tug a bit to get my machine to stitch through the pleats.

A Checkered Garden Quilt

7 / 1 / 207 / 5 / 20
Checkered Garden Quilt by Film in the Fridge. Made by The Willow Market.

I have four children right now. They are seven, five, three, and three months. A couple years ago, I finished an economy block quilt for my seven year old. I have sewn zero quilts for my other children.

Warp & Weft Wovens by Ruby Star Society

Warp & Weft Wovens by Ruby Star Society

I wanted to see what these wovens were like. They’re a bit outside my realm of comfort, but as I’ve entered into the world of texture, they had me curious.
