Then Came June Basics Bundle

Friends, if you ask me, this is a beautiful bundle. Truth be told, I bought it solely to make pillow covers from for my shop. It’s the first fabric I’ve purchased specifically to make and sell.

I originally bought a fat quarter bundle.

Then I made the first pillow cover for my Etsy Shop.

I went back and bought a half yard bundle. I haven’t even finished off the fat quarter bundle. I love this bundle more than I anticipated. The colors, the textures, the variations, the details. It’s all a perfect combination.

Go find Megan at www.thencamejune.com. She’s the curator behind this bundle. If you like this bundle, you’ll likely enjoy other creations of her’s.

The bundle is getting more difficult to find, but it appears like there are preorders for another shipment in September.

I ordered mine from Handmade is Heartmade. Here are a few others that I see carry right the bundle right now:

Material Girl Chic on Etsy
Fat Quarter Shop
Fabric Bubb

(Yes, pillows are coming soon!)

Can’t find her bundle? Here’s a list of all the fabrics in the bundle. From my searching, it’s near impossible to find ALL these fabrics at the same store, but most of them seem to be available at Fabric.com. (Keep scrolling to see pictures with each fabric.)

Maybe you can choose a few favorites and try to narrow down from there. But good luck! The combo is hard to beat! They’re all fabrics produced by Robert Kaufman.

1. Below are the Manchesters. Beautiful texture. You can see the weave. It’s white and color intertwined.

Here are a few stores with a decent selection of Manchester fabrics:

Modern Quilter
Handmade is Heartmade
Fat Quarter Shop
Fabric.com

Manchester in Violet (The only place I could find violet is The Confident Stitch.)
Manchester in Poppy
Manchester in Kiwi
Manchester in Jade
Manchester in Charcoal

2. Below are the Essex Linens. No variation in color in the fabric, but it’s a nice texture to add. Plus, the mango is a beautiful coral color.

Here are a few places with a good selection of Kaufman Essex Linens:

Fabric.com has a great selection of Essex Linen!
Fat Quarter Shop
AA Cotton Creations
Modern Quilter

Essex Linen in Mango
Essex Linen in Blossom

3. Below are the Essex Yard Dyed Classic Wovens. To me, these feel like the essex linens…but with stripes! Perfect wide stripes and perfect narrow stripes! The entire line is full of gorgeous neutrals.

I found them at:
Fat Quarter Shop
AA Cotton Creations
Fabric.com

Essex Yarn Dyed Classis Wovens in Steel
Essex Yarn Dyed Classis Wovens in Black

4. Below are the Moondust fabrics. Looking for some shimmer or glitter. It’s subtle, but when you catch it in the light, there’s a tad of sparkle.

These appear (currently) to be available at:

Bungalow Quilting

Moondust in Blush (has sparkles / glitter)
Moondust in Shell (has sparkles / glitter)

5. Below are the Kona Cotton Solids. These are your standard quilting cotton solids.

Because of Covid, I have seen that Kona solids are out of stock in lots of places.

If you can find them at www.fabric.com, that is the most inexpensive place to buy the Kona solids.

Other places to check are:
Fat Quarter Shop
FabricBubb

Kona Cotton in Lemon Ice
Kona Cotton in Banana Pepper
Kona Cotton in Sea Mist
Kona Cotton in Seascape
Kona Cotton in Astral
Kona Cotton in Shark

6. Below are the Chambray Union line. These are a beautiful LIGHT WEIGHT texture. The ends fray easily. While the texture and visual aesthetic is lovely, I’d never use one of these for the backing of a pillow cover. They’re are a bit fragile, in my opinion. But don’t forget their beautiful.

(And if you have to unpick a seam on them, your seam ripper has a hard time knowing your stitch from the weave of the fabric. Ripping a seam on these beauties is a bit delicate.) Yes, I’ve learned from experience.

I can only find these available at Fabric.com.

Chambray Union Herringbone in Indigo – dark zig zag
Ch
ambray Union Dots in Indigo – white dots

7. Below are the Neon Neppys. When I first saw the speckles of color, these shifted outside of my comfort zone. Mixed with everything else, though, they fit right in. The specks are so subtle.

I only found these available at Fabric.com.

Neon Neppy in Denim (Speckles of color)
Neon Neppy in Blue

8. Below is Carolina Gingham in Black. And gingham needs no explanation. But this one is perfect.

You can find this at:
Fabric.com
Fat Quarter Shop
AA Cotton Creations

9. Last of all, here is Essex Yarn Dyed Homespun in Pepper. It’s another wonderfully textured fabric.

Here are a few places that carry it:
Fabric.com
Fat Quarter Shop
Handmade is Heartmade

When put together, there’s just very little to complain about. (Just the imperfect points on my triangles maybe.)

Lots of links and lots of fabrics in this post, but I think I learned a lot from this bundle. Thanks to Megan, I’ve been opened to an entire new world of textures!
